what we believe

Calvary Church believes and accepts the Bible as the authoritative, inspired Word of God. We believe that God reveals Himself in the Scriptures as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And we believe with all our heart the grand story of God’s salvation. This story moves from God’s creative activity (CREATION) to men’s fall into sin (FALL) to God’s wondrous work of deliverance in Christ Jesus (REDEMPTION) to God’s renewal of all things (NEW CREATION). This movement of God’s love, woven into the story of salvation, encompasses all of history and concerns all of creation and humanity.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we joyfully participate in, and look forward to, the renewal of all things, which shall be completed when Christ comes again revealing His glory, power, and majesty. Together with the one holy universal and apostolic Church, we confess and hold dear the teachings of Scriptures as summarized in the ecumenical creeds (Apostles’ Creed; Nicene Creed; Athanasian Creed). Since Calvary Church has its roots in the Reformed Christian heritage, we also uphold the truths confessed in the Reformed confessions, such as the Heidelberg Catechism, Belgic Confession, and Canons of Dort, as well as the Contemporary Testimony.

Ecumenical at heart yet distinct in doctrine, we uphold these teachings and proclaim them gladly in our worship and spiritual formation classes. We invite you to come and explore with us the teachings of the Christian faith.
